Stepping Up to the Plate
David Kloser is the author of two very inspirational and motivating books for young baseball players.  A former college pitcher and high school baseball coach, David embarked on a journey to interview former and present Major League players, managers, and coaches to find out what they wanted in a teammate, how they handle the "cheers and the jeers", how they handle making errors, what they consider to be the characteristics of a champion and more.

Stepping Up to the Plate and Stepping Up to the Plate; Second Inning are written on a level to be understood by young players.  Quotes from players such as John Smoltz, Greg Maddox, Chipper Jones, Alex Rodriguez, Randy Johnson and approximately 150 other Major League players tell the story of what's important in a person's character, how to achieve greatness and how to handle adversity.

Each chapter of the books ends with thought-provoking questions for the reader.

The books may be ordered by leagues as a fundraiser.  The cost to the leagues is approximately $5 per book and leagues may then set their own selling price.  The books may be ordered with sponsor advertising in the front covers - another way to promote your sponsors and get them additional recognition.

David and I have discussed another opportunity for leagues - using quotes from his books on fence banner advertising in conjunction with your sponsor logos.   For more information about using the books as a fundraiser, contact David at
